The exhibited works are an extension of imagery and ideas from the artist’s respective books and are presented alongside a table display of publications, drawings, and other printed ephemera from the Stray Pages catalogue, highlighting a relationship between painting, drawing, and published materials.
Founded in 2020, Stray Pages is a small press publisher with a focus on publishing limited edition and short-run artist books. Stray Pages collaborates with visual artists by offering them an opportunity to highlight imagery and ideas which are often considered peripheral to their primary output. To date, Stray Pages has published thirteen titles, with artists working in a range of mediums, from painting and drawing to 35mm film and digital image making. The books can be found on the shelves of local booksellers, in the collection of Deakin University, and in the archives of the Victorian State Library and the National Library of Australia.
