Marian Crawford

Marian Crawford is a visual artist whose works explore the relationships between the book, fine art printmaking processes, and the printed image in contemporary culture. She makes artist books – the book as a work of art, and her list of productions is small in number, and printed by hand with contemporary and traditional production methods. Crawford’s imprint investigates language (a fascination with synonyms and the works of contemporary poets), the historical resonance of pattern (the laws of physics), and the relationship of printed matter to opinion, politics and the news.
