Slow Burn Books

Naarm/Melbourne

Slow Burn Books is an art and design bookshop with a focus on Asia and its diaspora. We are dedicated to connecting independent art publishing in the region with local audiences.

Slow Burn Books was founded in 2020 by Scott Heinrich (designer) and Nikki Lam (artist-curator), who together share a passion for contemporary art, film, design, architecture and everything in between. Since launching at the Melbourne Art Book Fair in 2020, Slow Burn Books has developed an expansive collection of independent titles that are relevant, experimental and curious.

Slow Burn Books has participated in Tokyo Art Book Fair, Permanent Art Book Fair (Sydney), abC Art Book Fair (Beijing/Shanghai) and KL Art Book Fair (Kuala Lumpur); and is featured in Publishing As Method: Ways of Working Together in Asia (published by Mediabus, 2023, Seoul), a research publication on the production and circulation of Asian art publishing in the region.
